What the studio is
Fitandfocusedlife is a small strength room on Fort Street where coaching is done by hand. We run private and semi-private sessions of fifty-five minutes, write home programs from the same journal we use on the floor, and start every new client with a ninety-minute movement intake. The work is slow on purpose: load is chosen for the body in front of us, then rewritten when the week has been short on sleep or long on travel.
Most of the roster is made up of adults coming back to training after a gap, office backs that stiffen by Thursday, rowers and runners from the island who want a strength base that will last a season, and people over fifty-five who want their knees and shoulders to feel trustworthy on stairs and on the dock. If you already have a physiotherapist, we will read the notes you bring and keep the session inside those limits.
The roster is capped at forty active clients because the diary is kept by hand and the room is small. There are two lifting platforms and one mat zone, so we never put more than four people on the floor at once. That is the whole reason the wait for a new slot is usually one to three weeks rather than a same-week drop-in.
